Pivot Points Analyzer (PPA) is a generator of market timing signals and an essential component of our Day Trading Tester Suite software.
Pivot Points Analyzer uses our unique algorithm to pinpoint market reversals in nearly real-time. Which makes PPA an invaluable tool to time market entry and exit – especially in fully automated trading strategies.
See how PPA works on the below video. Red dots are market tops, and blue- market bottoms. Signals are generated on ticks (upper graph) but they are also plotted on the candle graphs (M1 time frame shown in the video).
PPA signals are available in the C++ environment that is included into the Day Trading Tester Suite.
So, an automated trading strategy can enter or exit the market immediately after a signal is generated.
How to use PPA
Using PPA is very easy. If you have a premium license installed, you are all set! PPA is always on. The only thing you need to do is to adjust the parameters.
We recommend using the following values (top to bottom): 100/100/254/5/15.
Set the values by dragging the sliders with the mouse and then fine tune with the arrow keys. Note that you can’t change the parameters during a running simulation.
The bigger the values, the less signals PPA will generate.
Tip: if for some reason you want to turn off the PPA signals, you can do that by setting one or multiple of the top 3 sliders to the maximum value.
You can also enable sound signals when a PPA dot is painted.
The most important use case for PPA signals is market entry or exit for automated trading strategies. See the User’s Guide how to access the signals from the C++ code.
